No Touching is an ongoing visual essay through my own intimate experience. This exhibition consists of prints of new additions in the series and a photographic book.

I’ve been moving between different cultures for the past few years, and integrating aspects of disparate cultures is at the core in my practice. In some cultures, ambiguity is an important part of intimate relationships, which is what I sought to convey in my poetry. However, in some others, clear consent is widely expected. The ambiguity of the “want but not want” under unspoken consent lost in the translation. The exhibition raises the conversation in a larger context around culture difference and sexuality.
